Dear Professional Advisor,
Greetings from the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF). I am pleased to share with you the latest updates on the GiftLaw web site by GiftLaw editor A. Charles Schultz. The GiftLaw web site, Weekly E-mail Service and Satellite Teleconference are public services from Crescendo Interactive, Inc. We provide this update each week to our professional advisor friends. In addition, please feel free to call us at 1-800-888-1842 if I can run a proposal or be of further assistance to you.
THE IMPACT OF PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS
It's well known to readers of this newsletter that professional advisors are often key players in major charitable gifts. Attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, insurance agents and others are often the reason donors feel comfortable making a donation that can be transformational for a community or nonprofit--that comfort can come in recognizing the impact of the gift as well as the prudence in a particular gift and its benefits for the donor.
We at SDCF appreciate the role advisors play and honor them through our Legacy Society. Our Key Club recognizes nearly 100 advisors around South Dakota who have assisted donors in creating funds with SDCF that have a major impact on our state. In a recent SDCF podcast, Hot Springs financial advisor Barb Miller spoke about helping donors make gifts that support the causes they care about as they also benefit and protect their personal interests.
